The Selling: Picture Postcard Edition

The Selling is a horror-comedy that's kind of like Poltergeist, but instead of being scary for a family, it's inconvenient for a real estate agent.

Back when we made this award-winning movie, I spent time on set doing things like backing up footage from the camera, recoloring stills in strange ways with a program called RED ALERT, and assembling the film.

Although the movie was edited in Final Cut 7, when the end of the shoot came around I threw a bunch of those stills into iMovie to make a quick and easy slideshow. It was set to OKGO’s “The House Wins,” which seemed appropos. Today, the way the easing of the Ken Burns Effect™ clashes with the crossfades bothers me a little.

I bring all this up now because we’re just a few days away from the 1-month anniversary of halloween candy being on the shelves of my local grocer, so Halloween season must be getting into high gear. The perfect time for a scary laugh!

The Selling stars Gabriel Diani, Etta Devine, Janet Varney, and Jonathan Klein, with Barry Bostwick, Cole Stratton, Kitty Swink, Phil Proctor, and Delilah the Goat. Stream it today!
