Most of the time when I get an email meant for someone else, it's because that person doesn't know their own email address. In this case, it's because the sender didn't know his mother's email address. And I know he doesn't know it, because he guessed at 5 variations and sent this to all of us.
I can't decide what's worse, that Joe doesn't know how to contact his mother, or this insanely passive-aggressive message.
This week, I found myself trying to make my phone seem fresh and new and interesting by deleting apps[1] and rearranging my home screen.
I realized it would also be a good time to change my lock screen. My iOS wallpapers are almost always art from the blog of Pascal Campion. (I don't really know who that is or anything about him, except that he's terrific at illustration, and that I enjoy his ongoing series of spider-man paintings.)
It sounds silly, but I feel really excited and charged up every time I pick up my phone and see this new image. I think it's got something to do with the treehouse showing up in both pictures.
Here's the old image, and on the right, the new.
(While searching his site for the links to these images, I found another one of the treehouse. Laptop background, here we go!)
I hold fast to my belief that the iOS App Store app should offer an option on the updates screen to simply delete an app from your phone entirely. ↩
The end result of a game of Letterpress has always vaguely reminded me of Conway's Game of Life, which is an early computing application that I had assumed was only referred to as a game out of respect for the dead, but Mr. Conway survives.
Anyway, I've been collecting these game results for a while, in order to be able to do this:
